If Chappell Roan instigates a mosh pit, blending modern metalcore with a unique self-expression that subverts your expectations of screamers? that’s who Dutch Hyacinth is. Raised in Texas by Californians, her desire to keep people guessing shows in her genre-bending sound. She is currently attending Belmont University.

If a mosh pit was instigated by Chappell Roan, Dutch Hyacinth would be the one to do it by subverting the expectation that her look matches the sound she creates. Suffering from pink hysteria, the question should be asked: how can someone who looks so cute be so scary?
Born and raised outside of Houston, Texas, by two Californians, added a unique perspective to her life, showing the irony of life. In the earliest years of Dutch’s life, she was exposed to many different genres, including rock, metal, classic rock, 80s, and even soka, yet she developed an affinity towards pop music. With dreams of being a musician all of her life, once she discovered metal artists on her own and learned about the technique of screaming, she fell in love with the genre and wanted to create that sound.
Dutch Hyacinth has always stuck out like a sore thumb since childhood, and with that came an unspoken isolation from many people. She wants to create music for fellow outcasts of society, and wants them to embrace who they are and what they like and show it off with pride. Gaining inspiration from artists like Bring Me the Horizon and their dark lyricism, YUNGBLUD and his authenticity, and Chappell Roan with her ability to be fearlessly truthful. Dutch Hyacinth, derived her name from the poisonous flower after her maternal grandmother instilled an awe for nature in Dutch with her flower garden.
The award that Dutch is most proud of achieving is the Sunshine Award, which she received in 2nd grade for always being a positive and outgoing presence. In 2020, she qualified for the Texas Forensics Association conference with Duet Acting. She has also won best supporting actress during her senior year in her theater department for her work as Rusty in Footloose the Musical, as well as nationally qualifying with a solo musical theater song at the Texas Thespians State Festival. At that same festival, she was a part of the pilot project for the high school version of The Play that Goes Wrong, where she received the award for best sound for a play.
Currently a student enrolled at Belmont University, Dutch Hyacinth is working to make music, gain connections, and plans to graduate with a Bachelor's of Music in Commercial Music with voice as her primary instrument in 2027. On campus, she has been a part of the University Singers ensemble and is currently in the Bel Canto ensemble
